Our Zero to Airline Pilot training takes students with no previous flying experience up to ‘Commercial Pilot’ with a Frozen ATPL in around 18 to 20 months. They are then eligible to join the airlines as a First Officer. The training covers all levels from no experience to a professional EASA Commercial Pilot’s License with a Multi-Engine and Instrument Rating.
Part 1 – Private Pilot Level
Private Pilot License
The aim of the PPL training is to teach the student pilot to fly safely and efficiently by day. The Private Pilot License can be extended by the qualification for a Night Rating and Basic Instrument Flight Module, or to continue your flight training towards a commercial license for an airline pilot.
Full Time – 2 to 3 Months
Pre Entry Requirements:
- Minimum Age 16 years old to start
- Class 2 Medical Certificate
- 17 years old for License Issue
The PPL Course Consists Of:
- Minimum 45 hours Total Flight Time
- Minimum of 25 hours of dual instruction
- Minimum of 10 hours of solo flight
- 9 Theoretical Knowledge Exams
Part 2 – Airline Transport Pilot License Theory

Part 3 – Advanced Flight Training
Step 1 – Night Rating and Basic Instrument Flight Module
During the ATPL theory training program, the following training will be conducted:
- 5 Hours of night flight training
- 5 Hours of Instrument Flight training
- 5 Hours of Instrument FSTD / FNPT II Simulator training
FNPT II Flight Simulator
The flight simulator will be used at an elementary level as a generic piston engine aircraft to provide students with their initial instrument training to their full potential for more advanced systems training and type-specific conversion training.
Step 2 – 87 flight hours PIC flying program
Student pilots will be required to continue the flying to build the flight experience required towards the Multi Engine rating, Instrument rating and Commercial Pilot Licence. The PIC flight time will support the student pilot to develop the flying skills required while being assessed for the required skills as well as learning new ones.
Step 3 – Multi Engine Rating
The multi engine class rating allows a single engine pilot to transit to the twin engine aircraft under visual flight rules (VFR). This is also officially the start of the commercial pilot training providing a certain insight into airline and multi crew conditions. The Multi Engine Piston class rating (MEP) briefings are conducted together with the pre-flight briefings which happen before all dual flights.
The pre-flight briefings include the aim of the exercise and an explanation of what will be covered by the instructor and what will be practiced by the student during flight. There will be a post-flight briefing after each flight. These will discuss all major points made during the flight, clarifying queries the student has and indicating any progress the student might have.
- 7 Hours Ground school
- 6 Hours of Multi Engine flight training
- 2 Hours ME Skill test
Part 4 – Professional Flight Training
The aim of the Instrument Rating (IR) modular course is to train PPL(A) or CPL(A) holders to a standard that will allow them to operate aircraft under Instrument Flight Rules and in instrument meteorological conditions. The IR module consists of flying training in the Piper Seneca II for the multi engine IR and the FNPT II for the synthetic portion of the training.
- Approximately 5 weeks.
Pre Entry Requirements
- Hold a current aeroplane license, PPL or CPL.
- Have met the Night Qualification requirements.
- Hold a current class 1 medical.
- Passed ATPL exams.
- Total 50 hours PIC (Pilot In Command).
The IR course consists of:
- 15 hours flying instruction on Piper Seneca.
- 30 hours flying instruction in the Simulator.
Once these are completed to the satisfactory standards, the student will be allowed to attempt the IR Skill Test
There are 2 progress tests:
1. Conducted at the end of the synthetic flight training.
2. During student’s assessment to undertake the IR skill test.
The pre-flight briefings include a statement of the aim of the exercise and an explanation of what will be taught by the instructor and what will be practiced by the student during flight.
There will be a post-flight briefing after each flight. These will discuss all major points made during the flight, clarifying queries the student has and indicating any progress the student might have.
Part 5 – Commercial Pilot Training
The Commercial Pilot Training is conducted at our home base airport, where aircraft, and instructors are always available, allowing the student pilot to concentrate on training in a highly enjoyable environment.
The CPL will raise the standard of flying to a level where one can surpass and improve their level of flying skills.
- 3 to 4 weeks.
Pre Entry Requirements:
- Hold a current Class 1 Medical Certificate
- Be the holder of a PPL.
- 150 hours flight time as pilot (100 as Pilot in
- Passed ATPL theory examinations.
- Completed a Night Rating.
The CPL course consists of:
- Minimum 25 hours dual flying instruction on the Warrior/Seneca.
For holders of IR /ME Licence:
- 5 hours flying instruction on Piper Seneca.
- 10 hours flying instruction on Piper Warrior.
Requirements for licence issue:
- 18 years of age.
- 200 hours total flying time to include:
- Minimum 100 Hours PIC.
- Minimum 20 Hours VFR Cross Country.
- A cross country flight of at least 300NM landing in at least 2 different aerodromes apart from the departure aerodrome.
Higher Aviation Diploma in Aviation
The Higher Diploma in Aviation is intended for ab-initio and student pilots who are enrolled for a pilot course leading to an EASA ATPL, MPL or equivalent, and for pilots who are already in possession of such licences and seeking to enhance their professional career.
This course will provide an excellent balance between theoretical understanding and technical insight into the operational environment of the modern pilot. This approach will afford students a deeper insight into their profession, allowing them to take better decisions in the field whilst also giving them a competitive advantage in their career.
Delivered by experts in their respective fields, the course provides an introduction to the fundamental engineering principles associated with aviation and then builds on this to address, with the academic rigour of a higher diploma, the technical and operational aspects associated with flying. It is intended to complement the ground instruction and flying training provided by flying schools leading to EASA Airline Transport Pilot Licence (ATPL), Multi-crew Pilot Licence (MPL) or equivalent, providing a more professional understanding and insight into the technical and operational matters associated with flying modern large transport aircraft.
This course is held on a part-time basis which allows students to do this course while doing a full time course such as PPL, ATPL etc.
